Casio is gearing up to introduce its G-Shock watch collection inspired by the Shiba Inu dog to the U.S. market this November, after a successful launch in Japan last September. This collection honors the beloved Shiba Inu breed, known for its loyalty and unique appearance.
Unique Models
The Shiba Inu collection features three distinct models, each representing different fur colors of the breed:
G-Shock GA-100SHB-5A
This model showcases the sesame-colored Aka-Shiba (brown Shiba Inu), sporting a gentle brown and off-white palette along with a cute Shiba Inu icon on the inset dial. It has an analog-digital display that offers a 1/1000-second stopwatch, world time for 29 time zones, five daily alarms, and a complete auto-calendar. With dimensions of 55 × 51.2 × 16.9 mm and a weight of 70 grams, it boasts a sturdy design priced at around $140.
Sleek and Functional
G-SHOCK DW-5600SHB-1
Taking inspiration from the black Kuro-Shiba, this model features a stylish black exterior with an off-white underside, complemented by a minimalist Shiba silhouette on the dial. As a digital-only watch, it includes a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, flash alert, and an electroluminescent backlight with afterglow. Measuring 48.9 × 42.8 × 13.4 mm and weighing in at 53 grams, it’s both lightweight and practical, with a price tag of around $130.
Distinctive Design
G-Shock DW-6900SHB-7
Inspired by the white Shiro-Shiba breed, this watch features a special backlight that reveals a Shiba Inu face when turned on. It offers a digital display with Triple Graph, a 1/100-second stopwatch, and a countdown timer. With dimensions of 53.2 × 50 × 18.7 mm and a weight of 67 grams, it’s both resilient and eye-catching, also priced around $130.
All models are crafted to meet G-Shock’s high standards for durability, providing shock resistance, water resistance up to 200 meters, and an approximate battery life of two years. The mineral glass face on each watch enhances scratch resistance, making them ideal for active lifestyles.
According to G-Central, the U.S. launch is expected in November, and the watches are already featured on Casio’s global website, indicating a broader release may be on the horizon.
