The G-SHOCK DW5600SHB-1, which is part of Casio's Shiba Inu series, has now been released in the United States. This model was first introduced in Japan back in September, alongside the GA-100SHB-5A and the DW-6900SHB-7. Its design is inspired by the Kuro-Shiba, a type of Shiba Inu with a black coat. One of the standout features is its black resin band that has a contrasting off-white underside, mimicking the natural color patterns of the dog.
Key Features and Design
The Casio DW5600SHB-1 showcases a full-body design of the Shiba Inu, with the dog's face lighting up on the dial when the backlight is turned on. It includes a variety of useful functions like a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, and multi-alarm options, all while maintaining G-SHOCK’s renowned shock resistance and 200-meter watertight capability. Plus, it offers an impressive battery life of up to five years with a CR2016 battery.
Cultural Significance and Availability
This new addition fits into Casio's ongoing trend of blending cultural aspects into their watches. In addition to its impressive features, the DW5600SHB-1 is also lightweight and sturdy, weighing just 55 grams thanks to its bio-based resin material. Available for $130, the DW5600SHB-1 can be found on Casio's official website and at selected retailers.
