BenQ has introduced their latest 4K UHD projector, the W2720i, which boasts a native resolution of 3840 × 2160. This projector features a brightness of 2500 ANSI lumens, aiming to provide sharp visuals even in bright environments. With an impressive color range, it covers 90% of the DCI-P3 color space and 98% of Rec. 709. Additionally, it has a remarkable contrast ratio of 500,000:1.
Advanced Light Source and HDR Support
The W2720i utilizes a 4LED light source that lasts up to 30,000 hours in Eco mode, minimizing maintenance needs. It is compatible with HDR formats like HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG, enhancing dynamic range and contrast. Moreover, picture modes such as Filmmaker Mode and AI Cinema let users customize image settings based on their tastes or the type of content being viewed.
Connectivity and Audio Experience
For connectivity options, the projector comes with three HDMI 2.1 ports (featuring HDCP 2.3), eARC, S/PDIF, USB Type-A, and RS232. This makes it suitable for connecting various devices like Blu-ray players, streaming devices, and gaming consoles. The audio system supports 7.1-channel sound and allows for Dolby Atmos transmission through eARC, ensuring a premium audio experience.
In addition to these features, the W2720i offers vertical lens shift of ±5% and trapezoidal adjustments of up to 30 degrees both vertically and horizontally, providing flexible installation options. Operating at noise levels as low as 26 dBA in Eco mode, it also includes a remote control and optional accessories, such as 3D glasses. Currently, the projector can be purchased from BenQ's website for £1,999 (~$2592), although it is out of stock at the moment.
