BenQ has launched its latest 31.5-inch programming monitor, the RD320U, in China. This monitor was first unveiled globally earlier this year and is now available for purchase on JD.com for 5,299 yuan ($727). Let’s take a closer look at its main features.
Key Features of BenQ RD320U
The BenQ RD320U is equipped with a 4K IPS display that delivers a resolution of 3840×2160 and has a 16:9 aspect ratio. It boasts a pixel density of 140 PPI, providing clear and detailed visuals that are essential for effective coding work.
The monitor features a VESA DisplayHDR 400 technology with a contrast ratio of 2000:1, which supports HDR10, allowing for deeper blacks and brighter highlights. It provides a typical brightness of 400 nits (including HDR mode) and has a 10-bit color depth, which results in vibrant and realistic color reproduction. Supporting 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, it guarantees remarkable color precision, making it perfect for both programming tasks and content creation.
Programmer-Friendly Design
This monitor is tailored specifically for programmers, featuring special coding modes that offer both light and dark themes. These themes smartly adjust the screen settings to enhance code visibility and lessen eye fatigue. The anti-glare panel helps reduce reflections, ensuring a clear view in various lighting environments. Additionally, the "Owl Mode" is designed for comfortable viewing during night-time coding sessions.
The RD320U allows for various ergonomic adjustments, including a height adjustment of 110mm, tilt from -5° to 20°, swivel, and a 90° pivot rotation. This flexibility makes it simple for users to switch between portrait and landscape views, making it suitable for coding, document reviewing, or multitasking effectively.
Connectivity and Additional Features
Equipped with a KVM switch, the monitor enables effortless control of two devices using a single keyboard and mouse. It also supports PIP/PBP (Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture) for simultaneous dual-source display. With DualView Plus mode, users can apply different color settings to split-screen sections, enhancing multitasking capabilities with tailored visuals for distinct workspaces.
The RD320U comes with a USB-C port that offers 90W power delivery, facilitating efficient charging and data transfer for laptops and other peripherals. It includes a variety of connectivity options, such as two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DP 1.4 port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, and one Type-B port.
The monitor incorporates hardware-level blue light filtering, certified by Eyesafe 2.0, along with flicker-free technology and smart dimming that adjusts brightness to match ambient lighting. It also features Night Mode and functions aimed at eye comfort, ensuring protection for your eyes throughout the day.
Eco-Friendly Design
Constructed with 85% recycled materials, the monitor emphasizes an eco-friendly design and includes energy-saving features to lessen its environmental footprint.
