Asus ROG Phone 9: The Expensive New Android Flagship in Europe

The ROG Phone 8 was released at the beginning of the year, priced at €1,099 (around $1,161) for the model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage in Europe. Currently, it can still be found on Amazon.de for €999.99 as of today, November 13, 2024.

A Comparison of Prices

Calling this device the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 gaming smartphone would be a bit of a stretch. Its future replacement, which will utilize the upgraded Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, might make the current pricing seem more justifiable in comparison.

New Listings Surface

Recently, the ROG Phone 9 has been spotted on ComputerSalg, known as Denmark's "Online Mega Store," ahead of its official launch. It is listed under the model number AI2501, and its sales page suggests a price of 9,838 krone (DKK), which translates to about €1,319 or $1,394.

Enhanced Features Ahead

This new smartphone offers a larger storage capacity of 512GB. However, it seems to carry a substantial price increase of over $230 in at least one market. Additionally, the ROG Phone 9 is likely to be introduced alongside a more advanced Pro version, which will include a special rear-facing AniMe dot-matrix display that enhances the gaming experience.
