Xiaomi has begun detailing key specifications of the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro ahead of its official debut, confirming a major leap in battery capacity, faster charging speeds, and a brighter display.

A new battery benchmark for the series

Through a series of teasers, the company announced that the Redmi Note 17 Pro will house a 9,000mAh battery, representing a substantial increase over the 7,000mAh cell found in its predecessor. Wired charging has been upgraded correspondingly to 67W, up from 45W. The device also supports reverse wired charging at up to 22.5W, effectively allowing it to double as a portable power bank for other gadgets.

Xiaomi further stated that it will replace the battery at no cost if its health degrades below 80% within the first five years of use. It remains unclear whether this extended warranty will be offered in markets outside China.

Display and eye protection highlights

The Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature what Xiaomi describes as a “flagship-level” flat display with a peak brightness rating of 3,500 nits. While the panel technology was not explicitly named in the latest materials, it is widely reported to be an OLED screen. The company did confirm several built-in eye protection measures, including a low-light mode capable of dimming to just 1 nit for more comfortable viewing in dark environments.

The Redmi Note 17 series is scheduled to launch in China on July 14, 2026. A global release is expected to follow shortly after.
