Vivo has quietly broadened its Y500 series with the launch of a new 4G model now available in Nepal and Pakistan. The move comes months after the company first introduced a Y500 5G variant in China last September, though the 5G edition has yet to appear on the global stage. Industry speculation suggests the 5G model could eventually reach other markets under the Vivo T-series banner, with India often mentioned as a likely destination.
Display and battery specifications
The newly released 4G handset is built around a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness rated at 5,000 nits. Power is supplied by a substantial 8,100 mAh battery with support for 44 W wired charging. For comparison, the Chinese 5G edition carries a slightly larger 8,200 mAh cell and significantly faster 90 W wired charging.
Performance and software platform
Under the hood, the device runs on a Unisoc T7300 chipset, combined with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of built-in storage, without the option for storage expansion. The phone ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6, although Vivo has not disclosed details regarding the duration or scope of future software support. A dual-camera system on the rear pairs a 50 MP main sensor with a 2 MP secondary sensor, while a 32 MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
Pricing and availability
The Vivo Y500 4G is offered in midnight blue and pearl white colorways. The base configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is priced at NR 54,999 (approximately $361). Stepping up to the 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant raises the cost to NR 61,999 (approximately $407). The phone is available through Vivo’s official online store and authorized retail partners in the launch countries.
