Early-access data feed targets institutional trading desks
Trump Media & Technology Group has quietly approached traders and hedge funds about a premium data service that would provide ultra-fast access to posts on Truth Social for a monthly fee reaching $100,000. People familiar with the discussions, who requested anonymity because the details are not yet public, told the Financial Times that the product will be called Truth API and is scheduled to launch on August 1, 2026.
Product designed for algorithmic speed
The data stream is built for algorithmic trading operations rather than individual users. It will deliver real-time posts from the ten highest-ranking Truth Social accounts, arriving faster than the standard notifications that ordinary platform users receive. TMTG interim CEO Kevin McGurn confirmed the initiative in a statement, noting that markets already react to Truth Social posts and that the API aims to convert that dynamic into a recurring, licensed revenue stream.
The rationale resonates directly with the targeted firms. High-frequency trading desks and systematic quant funds execute positions in milliseconds, which means even a fractional latency advantage on market-moving information can translate into substantial gains. The president’s Truth Social account counts 12.9 million followers and has repeatedly triggered sharp price movements in equities, commodities, and cryptocurrencies through posts on tariffs, geopolitical conflicts, and individual stocks.
Industry parallels and enforcement warnings
Several other social platforms, including X and Reddit, already sell institutional data access through comparable API offerings. TMTG added that certain firms have been scraping Truth Social data in violation of its terms of service and cautioned that it will increase friction for unauthorized access in the period leading up to the launch.
