Capcom has released update 1.3.1 for Resident Evil Requiem, bringing immediate balance refinements to the demanding “Leon must die forever” endgame mode. The patch is now available to download on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to easing early frustrations in the bonus challenge, the update resolves several minor software bugs present in the main game client.

Smoother Entry for Survival Challenges

The core focus of version 1.3.1 is softening the punishing opening hours that analytics showed were blocking a majority of players. Enemy behavior across the first two challenge tiers has been recalibrated to create a fairer learning curve. In Rank 1 encounters, both enemy aggression and health pools have been scaled back, giving newcomers room to learn map layouts without being immediately overwhelmed. Rank 2 adjustments reduce overall threat density and incoming damage, allowing players to gather essential supplies before facing more intense ambushes.

Three Core Skills Rebalanced

To further improve survival odds during these grueling runs, Capcom has upgraded three central character abilities, targeting inventory management and damage output against swarming enemies.

  • Explosives Specialist: The chance of retaining a grenade after throwing it has been significantly increased, making explosive items far more reliable instead of vanishing after a single use.
  • Throwing+: Raw damage for all thrown weapons has been raised substantially. This boosts the stopping power of hand grenades, turning them into ideal tools for clearing crowded rooms.
  • Strategist: The active combat buff window now lasts longer, and the perk simultaneously delivers a higher overall attack power increase, helping players inflict heavy damage throughout the extended duration.

The balance update is applied automatically the next time players launch the title on any platform. Together, these tuning changes are designed to help a wider audience push deeper into the endgame without losing their hard-earned equipment. As survival horror fans look ahead, the recently confirmed release date, platforms, and price for Silent Hill: Townfall add another point of anticipation for the genre.
