LG Electronics has launched a sweeping internal reorganization aimed at accelerating its presence in physical AI and advanced robotics. On July 1, 2026, the company formed a dedicated Robotics Business Center in Seoul, consolidating development, sales, and manufacturing under a single operational roof.
A Unified Structure for Physical AI
The new division eliminates silos that previously separated engineering and commercial functions, allowing LG to move faster in a competitive market. By unifying the entire robotics pipeline, the company intends to scale systems that perceive and interact with their surroundings in real time—a field often described as physical AI. The restructuring is designed to turn prototypes into production-ready machines more efficiently while keeping critical process knowledge in-house.
Building a Global Alliance with Nvidia
The organizational shift unfolds alongside a broad, multi-sector alliance with Nvidia. Central to this partnership is a large-scale AI data factory in Seoul, slated for completion this year. The facility will generate high-quality operational data and synthetic training material produced through Nvidia Cosmos models. That data will directly feed LG’s Robot Foundation Model, equipping future machines with more precise real-world capabilities.
The collaboration extends across the LG Group’s consumer and enterprise portfolios. For home robotics, LG is adopting the Nvidia Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab frameworks, enabling thorough testing in virtual environments before physical deployment. The Nvidia Isaac GR00T model is also being integrated to give robots human-like reasoning and logical action skills. On the industrial and commercial side, the capabilities of subsidiaries Robostar and Bear Robotics are being brought into tighter alignment under the One LG Solution strategy, creating a more cohesive commercial offering.
Data Centers, Mobility, and Energy
Beyond robotics, the partners are co-developing liquid-cooled, modular AI factories that follow the Nvidia DSX standard. LG Uplus is delivering new large-scale data centers, while LG Energy Solution provides specialized power infrastructure tailored for high-density AI workloads. In the automotive sector, the companies are advancing driver assistance and autonomous driving features built on the Nvidia Drive platform, deepening LG’s footprint in software-defined vehicles.
