GPD’s long-running Win Max series appears to be approaching its next major revision, with early details of the unannounced Win Max 3 surfacing across multiple sources. The current flagship, the Win Max 2, first launched over four years ago with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, and has been iteratively refreshed since then, most recently with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 version that arrived at the end of 2024 at a price of $2,176.

Internal hardware and memory configuration

According to preliminary reports, the Win Max 3 will adopt AMD’s Strix Halo silicon, specifically the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 and Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processors. These are expected to be paired with a 97 Wh battery and up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X-800 RAM. Storage expansion appears generous, with the handheld reportedly offering M.2 2230, M.2 2280, and Mini SSD 1517 slots all housed within the device.

Display and physical dimensions

The screen is said to be a 9.06-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,400 by 1,504 pixels and a 165 Hz refresh rate. This panel may be a variant of the one used in the Nubia Gaming Tablet 5 Pro and RedMagic Astra 2. In terms of size, the Win Max 3 is listed with base measurements of 207 x 147 x 34 mm, expanding to 207 x 180 x 34 mm when the extended cooling module or battery pack is attached.

Timing, sourcing, and what remains unknown

Information about the Win Max 3 initially came to light via Bilibili user MuBuS and was later corroborated by details shared with the retailer Droix by an unnamed source. Third-party storefront GPD Store also appears to treat the information as credible. Nevertheless, without an official announcement from GPD—which has only made a vague reference to the device in October 2025—pricing, availability, and a formal launch date remain open questions. Readers should approach these specifics with caution until GPD confirms the hardware directly.
