Flextail’s latest portable tool, the Blast Air, has secured successful funding on Kickstarter, drawing more than $193,000 in pledges so far. The campaign began with a modest initial goal of roughly $5,000, a figure that would have covered only about 70 units. That low target appears to have been a strategic move to gauge demand and collect early pre-orders, a common approach on the platform. Flextail is already an established brand with several products on the market.

Design and charging approach

The Blast Air adopts a distinctive, almost smartphone-like silhouette, though its thick handle base gives it a bulky appearance depending on the viewing angle. Built into that handle is a Qi wireless charging receiver, enabling the device to top up its battery on any compatible charging pad. It does not, however, function as a Qi power bank to charge other devices. Wired charging is also supported through a USB-C port.

Flextail says the internal battery can deliver up to one hour of continuous use at the lowest power setting. Run-time estimates for the two higher speed levels have not been published.

Performance, accessories and limitations

Designed for both dusting with compressed air and inflating items such as hoses, the Blast Air is offered alongside a selection of nozzle adapters. Flextail notes that the device is less effective as a vacuum for removing air, though the company has been developing a suitable adapter. That accessory is not yet confirmed as part of the Kickstarter fulfillment.

The unit weighs approximately 7.4 ounces and can move up to 42.4 cubic feet of air per minute, according to the manufacturer. Maximum air speed is rated at 145 miles per hour.

Campaign status and pricing

The Kickstarter campaign is set to run until July 21, 2026. With its funding goal met many times over, the project is expected to move forward without significant hurdles, though standard crowdfunding risks remain since mass production has not yet begun. The current early-backer price is $69, and bundles are available alongside other Flextail products, such as the Zero Lantern, which has been commercially available for some time. Backers should note that shipping is currently scheduled for August 2026.
