In January, the company drew attention with the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, which debuted as the most affordable enclosed CoreXY printer to support multicolor output. One notable gap in that setup was the absence of an enclosed filament management system. Elegoo is now addressing part of that challenge with the launch of a standalone dryer.
A Compact Drying Solution with Broad Compatibility
The new H1 HT is a single-spool filament dryer that enters a market already populated by several third-party alternatives. It features a 3.5-inch full-color touchscreen and provides 11 preset drying modes for common materials, alongside a custom setting for less common filaments. The device can reach an internal drying temperature of up to 85 degrees Celsius, outpacing the thermal ceiling of some competing hardware such as the Bambu Lab AMS 2.0. It actively monitors chamber humidity and includes a rear filament feed port. Elegoo ships the unit with both a short and a long PTFE tube; the longer tube is designed to feed directly into the company’s Canvas system, while an additional dedicated port accommodates flexible TPU filament.
Practical Considerations for Multicolor Setups
For users operating a Centauri or Centauri Carbon 1/2 without the Canvas system, a single H1 HT dryer will suffice for direct feeding. However, makers using the Canvas multicolor ecosystem may find one unit limiting. Because each dryer holds only a single spool, simultaneously prepping four filaments for a multicolor print would require four separate H1 HT units, each demanding its own power source. It remains uncertain whether Elegoo intends to develop a larger, multi-spool enclosure with integrated drying, similar to designs already offered by competitors. Notably, Creality markets the SpacePi X4, a four-spool drying station that handles multiple materials in one device.
Pricing and Availability
The Elegoo H1 HT carries a retail price of $70 and is currently sold exclusively through the official Elegoo store. While the single-spool design positions it as a flexible accessory compatible with any 3D printer and filament brand, its appeal will likely be strongest among those who need a straightforward, high-temperature drying option without immediately scaling up to a full multi-spool system.
