Asus has officially expanded its Republic of Gamers controller lineup with the ROG Raikiri 2 Pro, debuting the device in China nearly a year after the standard Raikiri 2 was first announced. The reveal comes as part of the brand’s 20th anniversary product celebrations and arrives almost three years after the original Raikiri Pro reached the market.
A refined control layout with added visual flair
The Raikiri 2 Pro introduces several hardware changes that distinguish it from its predecessor. A full-color display now replaces the monochrome OLED panel found on the earlier flagship model, while a redesigned D-pad and a new row of five backlit buttons sit just below it. RGB light strips integrated into the handle grips further underscore the controller’s gaming-focused design.
Faster internals and upgraded thumbsticks
Under the hood, the controller adopts TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) thumbsticks and receives a substantial polling rate upgrade to 8,000 Hz. That figure marks a leap from the 250 Hz limit of the original Raikiri Pro and even surpasses the 1,000 Hz ceiling of the standard Raikiri 2. Asus has also joined competitors including GameSir and 8BitDo by equipping the Raikiri 2 Pro with two additional shoulder buttons, adjustable triggers, and a set of removable back keys.
Connectivity and endurance
The controller retains the triple-mode connectivity of the previous generation, supporting Bluetooth, wired USB, and 2.4 GHz wireless. Battery life has been extended to a rated 75 hours, a significant gain over the 48-hour endurance of the first Raikiri Pro. Asus will offer the ROG Raikiri 2 Pro in both black and white colorways. Official pricing and availability details have not yet been disclosed.
