Earlier this year in June, Anker initiated a recall of its 321 Power Bank 'A1112' after identifying a possible fire risk stemming from a manufacturing flaw. This issue could cause the lithium-ion battery in the power bank to overheat, posing a significant fire hazard. Unfortunately, a similar situation has arisen again, this time involving three different products that have been classified as hazardous due to comparable risks.
Affected Products
The three products at risk include the Anker 334 MagGo PowerCore 10K, the Power Bank 20K, and the MagGo Power Bank 10K. Specifically, the model numbers for these items are A1642, A1647, and A1652. If you own any of these devices, it is highly recommended that you enter your product's serial number on the official website linked here to start the recall process.
Safety Precautions
Anker reports that the underlying issue remains the same: the potential fire risk arises from a manufacturing defect, which may result in the overheating of lithium-ion batteries, creating a fire hazard. Owners of the affected power banks are advised to stop using their devices immediately and to store them in a safe, isolated location. Furthermore, if you plan to dispose of your power banks, it is crucial that you do not throw them in regular trash or recycling bins. Instead, please take them to a facility that can properly handle lithium-ion batteries.
