Amazfit GTR Mini Update: Enhanced GPS Features Now Available

Zepp Health has revealed the OTA 5 Update for the Amazfit GTR Mini smartwatch. This device was introduced in early 2023 and comes packed with features such as heart rate tracking, sleep quality assessment, and GPS capabilities. Notably, it supports five different satellite systems and incorporates a unique circularly polarized GPS antenna technology.

GPS Tracking Improvements

The OTA 5 update, identified as firmware version 5.5.2.2, aims to enhance the precision of GPS tracking during activities like cycling and running. Nonetheless, Zepp Health hasn't provided specific details on what changes have been made or how Amazfit GTR Mini users might notice improvements. A recent post on Discord indicated that the update is initially available to a select group of users. A broader global release is expected to start on November 28th, but the duration of this rollout remains uncertain.

Update Process

Once the update is ready for you, it can be installed through the Zepp app. The app recently underwent an update to Version 9.0.0. To initiate the update, navigate to Profile > Amazfit GTR Mini > System Update. Right now, the Amazfit GTR Mini smartwatch is listed on Amazon for $84.99, down from its earlier price of $99.99 in early October.
