The Chinese tech company NIU has expanded its product lineup to include electric motorcycles with the introduction of the NIU XQi3. This new electric dirt bike is the brand's first foray into the electric motorcycle market and offers impressive performance capabilities.
Features
Weighing in at 76kg, the NIU XQi3 is slightly heavier than its competitor, the Sur Ron Light Bee X. However, it makes up for this with its 8kW maximum output, which is 2kW more than the Sur Ron Light Bee X. The XQi3 features a sturdy forged aluminum frame that is designed for off-road riding, along with a reliable suspension system. It is available in three Cyberpunk-inspired style options, with color changes and patterns on the metal plate covering the sides of the battery pack. The available colors include white, purple, and yellow, reflecting a retro-motorbike style with a touch of Cyberpunk aesthetic.
The XQi3 electric motorcycle is equipped with KKE forks and minimalist front and rear mudguards. It features circular LED headlights and comes in two versions: the XQi3 Street and the XQi3 Wild. Both models share the same hardware and feature the Ultra Boost function. However, the XQi3 Wild has greater off-road capabilities, with a top speed of 75km/h compared to the Street version's top speed of 45km/h. The battery capacity of the XQi3 is 32Ah, offering a range of up to 90km. It's worth noting that the XQi3 Wild may have a slightly lower range than the Street version due to its increased off-road capabilities.
The battery of the NIU XQi3 can be fully recharged in approximately 5 hours and 20 minutes. With a seat height of 875mm and a ground clearance of 237mm, the XQi3 promises durability with its solid frame design. Additionally, it features a TFT screen that displays notifications and other smartphone-connected technology.
Pricing and Availability
The NIU XQi3 is priced starting at $5,499, making it $1,000 more expensive than the Sur Ron Light Bee X. However, considering its enhanced power and performance, the XQi3 offers good value for its price point. The electric motorcycle will be available in Europe and the US next year, providing consumers with an exciting new option in the electric motorcycle market.
