Xiaomi’s New Flagship and Wearables Debut
The tech giant rolled out a slate of fresh devices today, highlighted by a flagship phone that sports Leica-tuned cameras for photography enthusiasts. In addition, Xiaomi refreshed its Smart Band lineup with the Smart Band 10 Pro, expanding its fitness wearables family. Also, the company tentatively ventured into open-ear earbuds, signaling an more adventurous product mix overall.
Earbuds that Clip On and Go
As the photos depict, these new earbuds attach to the ear lobes in a clip-like fashion, reminiscent of the LinkBuds Clip from prior models. The device carries an IP57 dust and water resistance rating and houses a combined 120 mAh battery in the buds and case, aiming for up to nine hours of use per charge. Xiaomi also claims the charging case can deliver around 28 extra hours, which translates to a little over three full charges in total.
Specs, Connectivity, and Features
Bluetooth 5.4 is on board, with support limited to AAC, SBC, and LHDC 5.0 codecs. The earbuds offer multipoint pairing for use with multiple devices, are certified for Hi-Res Audio, and include 11 mm dynamic drivers alongside a 20 Hz to 48 kHz frequency response. Gesture controls are built in, and there is integration for Apple Find My as well, although the extent of cross-platform support varies by ecosystem.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Clip is listed at CNY 849 (roughly $125) in China, with a four-colour option selection. An introductory discount has reduced the price to CNY 799 (about $117). There hasn’t been official information released yet regarding international shipping or availability beyond China, so prospective buyers outside the region may need to wait for further announcements.
