Ayaneo Reveals Battery Capacity for New Compact Handheld

    Key Takeaway

    – Pocket Micro 2 battery increased to 3,950mAh (52% rise from 2,600mAh).
    – Upgrade addresses original model’s weak battery life.
    – Switch to a Snapdragon processor promises better power efficiency.
    – Charging speed remains unconfirmed, but 15W PD support is expected to improve.
    – More specs (screen, processor, pricing) still to be revealed before launch.

New Battery Details for Pocket Micro 2

As Ayaneo’s plan is to drip-feed specs until launch, they have now share the battery capacity of the upcoming Pocket Micro 2. The original handheld, the Pocket Micro, had a 2,600mAh cell, but its battery life was a weak spot despite the small size. The new model gets a 3,950mAh battery, this is a pretty big increase that should help with longevity.

What About the Processor and Screen?

Ayaneo hasn’t revealed the display size or the processor just yet, but we already know from previous news that it will have a Snapdragon chip. This is a step up from the Helio G99 in the old model, offering better performance and hopefully better power efficiency too. But to see if battery life really improves, we will need to test it in real world usage when it comes out.

    • Original Pocket Micro: 2,600mAh battery
    • Pocket Micro 2: 3,950mAh battery (a 52% increase)
    • Processor: Snapdragon (more powerful and efficient than Helio G99)

    Charging Speed and Accessories

According to a teaser poster shared by the company, the capacity of the high-density battery is a 52% improvement over the previous generation. Unfortunatly, Ayaneo didn’t mention how fast the new handheld will charge. The Pocket Micro supported 15W Power Delivery, so its expected the Micro 2 might get a charging speed boost with the larger battery. Like their other devices, buyers will have to provide their own chargers because Ayaneo doesn’t ship its handhelds with a power adapter now.

We can anticipate more details will come out as the release gets closer. There is still a lot we dont know about the Pocket Micro 2, like its screen size, exact chip model, and final price. Stay tuned for future announcements.
