Seiko has announced four brand-new Presage Classic Series models inspired by “the art of silk”. The HCC001J, HCC002J, HCC003J, and HCC008 (sold in Japan as HCC010J) are all set for a July 2026 release and will be exclusive to Seiko Global Brand Core Shops. Each timepiece draws heavily from traditional Japanese textile arts to give watch fans a distinct look.

    Inspired Dial Designs

The dial designs across the three core models each derive inspiration from a specific aspect of Japanese silk culture. The HCC001J “Shironeri” gets a white dial inspired by refined silk threads, the HCC002J goes with a pale bamboo green as a reference to the dye colors traditionally used in kimonos, and the HCC003J has a soft pink dial inspired by cherry blossoms. The fourth model, the HCC008, takes things a little further with a rose gold-tone case, markers, and hands paired with a white dial — and is limited to 2,000 pieces globally, with 500 reserved for Japan alone. Many collectors will likely try to secure one before they sell out.

    Shared Case and Movement Specs

All four share the same case dimensions — 38.0 mm diameter, 12.9 mm thick, 43.8 mm lug-to-lug — in stainless steel with a Diashield coating. They run on the 6R51 caliber, an automatic with manual winding, a 72-hour power reserve, 24 jewels, and accuracy rated at +25/-15 seconds per day. The crystal is dual-curved sapphire with an inner anti-reflective coating, and the case back is a see-through screw type. Water resistance is 10 bar. This movement is known for being reliable and robust in daily use.

    Bracelet, Strap, and Weight Differences

The HCC001J and HCC002J come on stainless steel bracelets with a push-button double-fold clasp, and weigh 135 g. The HCC003J is on a dark brown leather strap with a push-button three-fold clasp, weighing 78g. Pricing is ¥132,000 for the HCC001J and HCC002J, and ¥129,800 for the HCC003J. Pricing for the HCC008 hasn’t been listed yet. The leather strap version feels alot lighter on the wrist, making it a good choice for those who prefer a subtler presence.

    Limited Edition Details and Availability

Each model offers a distinct take on the Presage design language, with the HCC008 being the standout due to its rose gold tone and limited production run. Seiko has not yet confirmed pricing for this variant, but expect it to be a bit higher then the standard models. They will be sold exclusively through Seiko Global Brand Core Shops starting July 2026, so customers should contact their local retailer early to reserve a piece.

Seiko Launches New Presage SPB537 Inspired by 1895 Timekeeper Design

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Seiko SPB537, also known as SART013 in Japan, is inspired by the company’s first pocket watch, the “Timekeeper,” from 1895.
    2. The watch features a white enamel dial crafted by experienced artists, with design elements reminiscent of the original pocket watch, including elongated black Roman numerals.
    3. It has a sturdy stainless steel tonneau case and a multi-link bracelet, designed for a classic dress watch look, with water resistance of 5 bar (50 meters).
    4. The SPB537 is powered by the Caliber 6R5H movement, visible through an exhibition case back with a gold-finished rotor.
    5. Unlike many high-end Seiko models, the SPB537 is part of the regular Presage collection and not a limited edition, although pricing and availability details are not yet available.

Seiko has broadened its Presage lineup with the new SPB537, known as SART013 in the Japanese market. This watch features a tonneau shape and draws inspiration from the company’s historical beginnings in watchmaking. It serves as a formal homage to the “Timekeeper,” the first pocket watch crafted by the Seikosha factory back in 1895.

    Elegant Dial Design

The standout feature of the SPB537 is its white enamel dial. To guarantee the durability and shine of this finish, Seiko has brought in the skills of seasoned enamel artist Mitsuru Yokosawa. Kazunori Uchiyama, who has learned Yokosawa’s unique firing methods, oversaw the production of the dial, ensuring high quality.

The design of the dial closely resembles that of the original from the 19th century, showcasing elongated black Roman numerals and a railway-style minute track. While the original “Timekeeper” was a pocket watch, this modern version is designed for the wrist, featuring blued steel hands and a crescent-moon counterbalance on the second hand.

    Sturdy Case and Bracelet

The SPB537 boasts a stainless steel tonneau case with proportions that are well-suited for a classic dress watch. It comes attached to a multi-link stainless steel bracelet that combines brushed and polished surfaces. To protect the dial, a dual-curved sapphire crystal is used, and the watch has a water resistance rating of 5 bar (50 meters).

Inside, the SPB537 is driven by the Caliber 6R5H, part of Seiko’s high-performance 6R series. The movement can be admired through an exhibition case back, which features a gold-finished commemorative rotor.

    Standard Release

Notably, the SPB537 is being added to the regular Presage collection rather than being released as a limited edition, which is common for many of Seiko’s higher-end models. As of now, specific pricing and availability information has not yet been revealed.
