Sanwa Supply Launches Wireless Handheld Mouse with Media Controls

Sanwa Supply has introduced the 400-MAWBT204BK, a handheld mouse designed for wireless control of computers. This device features a pointing stick, which is similar to the Lenovo TrackPoint, allowing users to move the cursor without needing a flat surface. This is particularly beneficial for AR/VR/XR users, as well as those who prefer to control applications while walking in virtual reality or relaxing in bed.

    User-Friendly Design

The pointing stick is encircled by a control pad that includes four buttons for easy navigation—page up, page down, next page, and previous page—making it convenient for managing presentations or reading eBooks. Additionally, a media control pad located below the mouse pad enables users to manage media playback directly, eliminating the need to move the cursor to on-screen play, fast forward, rewind, or volume settings. In between the two pads, there’s a scroll wheel that allows for precise scrolling through pages.

    Specifications and Features

This wireless handheld mouse has a weight of 1.98 oz. (56 g) and dimensions of 2.28 x 4.5 x 2.22 in. (5.78 x 11.43 x 5.63 cm). It includes a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi USB-A receiver that can be stored within the mouse’s grip for easy transportation. Users can switch between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 mode using a switch on the mouse. When in Bluetooth mode, this mouse is compatible with devices running Android OS, Apple iOS, Chrome OS, MacOS, and Windows. The rechargeable battery offers around 75 hours of usage under normal conditions.

    Pricing and Availability

The Sanwa Supply 400-MAWBT204BK is priced at 7,480 yen (approximately $49) and can be purchased through Sanwa Direct in Japan. For those who haven’t yet explored virtual reality, the popular Meta Quest 3 headset is available on Amazon right now.

Sanwa Supply Launches Boombox with Cassette-to-MP3 and Bluetooth

Sanwa Supply has launched a new boombox that combines features for those who love cassette tapes. This device mixes classic and modern audio aspects, offering traditional analog knobs and buttons.

    Cassette Player Features

One of the standout retro elements is the cassette tape player. It can playback tapes with a frequency range of 60 Hz to 10 kHz and records at a range of 100 Hz to 10 kHz. Users can enjoy their tapes through the three-watt stereo speakers or via headphones through the 3.5 mm stereo jack.

    Digital Conversion Capabilities

By inserting an SD card or USB flash drive, users can easily transform their cassette tapes into 128 kbps 48 kHz mono MP3 files. Additionally, users have the option to upload their own MP3 files onto these memory devices or connect their smartphones or other audio sources via Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless playback. The boombox supports MP3 playback at a frequency range of 100 Hz to 10 kHz and a recording range of 125 Hz to 10 kHz.

    AM/FM Radio Tuner

Another nostalgic aspect is the AM/FM radio tuner, which can receive AM stations from 530 to 1,600 kHz and FM stations ranging from 76 to 108 MHz. It also includes an extendable FM antenna and an internal AM rod antenna, which helps maintain good reception quality.

The device can be powered using an AC power cord or four C-sized batteries, which provide about 50 hours of use across all modes. The boombox measures 34 x 12 x 8.25 cm (13.4 x 4.7 x 3.2 in.) and weighs 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs.).

The price for the Sanwa Supply multifunction boombox is set at 13,800 yen (~$90), and it’s offered in black (400-MEDI050BK) and red (400-MEDI050R) options from Sanwa Supply. For those looking for a smaller alternative, the FiiO CP13 portable cassette player is available on Amazon.
