Plus, it’s only available in certain networks—like AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and a few others. So, if your carrier isn’t listed, you might not be able to use RCS yet.
How RCS Is Built Into Your Phone
Another good thing, you don’t need to download any extra app because RCS is built right into the Messages app on iOS. It already handles SMS, MMS, and iMessages, so this is an add-on to those features. And for folks in Europe, iOS 26.5 also lets you forward live activities to other compatible devices. But, Apple hasn’t said if support for third-party smartwatches has been improved with this update.
