A new and unique 2-in-1 device is currently being funded on Kickstarter, featuring the latest Intel processors. Unlike the Surface Pro series, which uses a detachable keyboard, the NPadF merges the screen and keyboard into what is called a ‘wallet-style A-shell’.
Design and Usage
The NPadF is positioned between the Surface Laptop Studio 2 and the One-Netbook 5 (current price: $1,199.99 on Amazon), showcasing a design that allows it to be utilized in multiple positions. The company, sharing the same name, claims that the NPadF sports a 10.95-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and supports 10-point multi-touch. They also state that the device is compatible with pen input, although no specific pressure sensitivity details have been provided.
Performance and Features
This 2-in-1 model comes equipped with either a Processor N100 or a Core i3-1215U, with performance results varying significantly based on our benchmarks. Furthermore, the NPadF includes a battery capacity of up to 34.5 Wh, weighing in at 978 g without its charger. It also features Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, along with dual 2 W speakers.
Pricing and Availability
The starting price for the NPadF is $499, which includes a Processor N100, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. In contrast, opting for the Core i3-1215U version adds an extra $150, but it also doubles the RAM and storage available. As of the current publication, NPadF anticipates that shipments of its 2-in-1 device will commence in April 2025.
