Last week, Citizen unveiled several exciting watches as part of its popular Tsuyosa collection. The limited edition Tsuyosa x seconde/seconde was definitely the highlight, capturing attention with its unique pixel-art katana minute hand and stunning sunburst blue dial. Following closely, Citizen Hong Kong introduced four vibrant Tsuyosa “Shore” watches, which feature colorful sunray dials along with a matching 120-click unidirectional bezel. Although international pricing and availability were unclear at first, two of the Tsuyosa Shore models, NJ0230-59L and NJ0232-53X, have recently reached the markets in the US, Canada, and Europe.

    New Sport-Luxury Aesthetic

These fresh sport-luxury watches offer a beach-themed look, “bringing the lively essence of the seaside into its design, resulting in a strong, sporty appearance.” The NJ0230-59L showcases a timeless silver-tone case and bracelet paired with a deep blue sunray dial and a matching 120-click unidirectional bezel. In contrast, the NJ0232-53X boasts a more striking color scheme, featuring a rich green sunray dial along with a dual-tone yellow-gold case and bracelet. Both timepieces measure 40mm in diameter, and come with a sleek stainless steel bracelet secured by a fold-over clasp.

    Excellent Functionality and Durability

These watches provide superb readability, thanks to their wide hands, ample luminous highlights, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that includes a magnified 3 o’clock date window. They are also designed for swimming and other water activities, with a water resistance rating of 100 meters, and a transparent case back that allows you to admire the intricate mechanical movements and rotating weights that are characteristic of mechanical watches.

The Tsuyosa Shore series is powered by Citizen’s automatic Caliber 8210 movement. This dependable mechanical engine has a 42-hour power reserve and features hacking seconds for accurate time adjustments. As with other automatic movements, it winds through wrist motion and doesn’t need a battery.

    Pricing and Availability

The Citizen Tsuyosa Shore NJ0230-59L is listed at $495 / CA $695 / €329, while the gold-tone NJ0232-53X is slightly more expensive at $550 / CA $750 / €359. Both models are currently available via Citizen’s official stores and authorized retailers throughout the US, Canada, and Europe.

It remains uncertain if or when the two additional Shore models, NJ0234-58X with a red dial and NJ0231-56L in green-blue, will be introduced to the US and North American markets, although they are already accessible in Europe.
