Motorola Launches Moto G05 in India: Affordable Features Unveiled

Motorola has introduced the Moto G05 in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific last month. Now, it’s making its way to India. While the Moto G05 is budget-friendly, it comes with several impressive and handy features.

    Design and Build Quality

The Moto G05 stands out in its category with a (kind of) upscale design. The back has a vegan leather texture, giving it a luxurious touch. It is available in two colors: Palm Red and Forest Green. Additionally, it features an IP52 water-repellent coating, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front, and a fingerprint scanner on the side.

    Pricing and Launch Details

The Moto G05 is offered only in a 4GB + 64GB variant. It will go on sale in India starting January 13 at 12 PM IST through Flipkart and the Motorola website. With a price tag of just Rs. 6,999, the Moto G05 provides excellent value for the cost.

    Camera and Software Features

The smartphone is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Although the hardware is typical for this price range, Motorola has added some unique software enhancements. The AI-driven portrait mode provides remarkable edge detection and creates a professional background blur. Moreover, the front camera automatically enters “group mode” when the device is turned sideways, simplifying group selfies.

Underneath, the Moto G05 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme SoC, which is a significant upgrade from the Unisoc T606 in the Moto G04. The device features a 6.67-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, slightly bigger than the 6.56-inch display of its predecessor.

    Display and Battery Life

The display can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, making it one of the brightest LCDs in its segment. It includes Motorola’s “Display Color Boost” feature, which enhances dark areas and enriches colors for better outdoor visibility.

The Moto G05 has a battery size of 5,200mAh, which is an increase from the 5,000mAh of the Moto G04. This model supports 18W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. It comes with Android 15 installed, along with Motorola’s Hello UI, ensuring a fresh and intuitive experience right from the start. If you are a current Motorola user, you can find the complete list of devices that will be updated to Android 15.

The dimensions of the phone are 165.67 x 75.98 x 8.10mm, and it weighs 188.8g. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is becoming uncommon for devices in 2025. However, it does not support 5G, which might be a downside for some users, providing only dual 4G LTE connectivity. Regardless, at this price, the Moto G05 presents a well-rounded offering with a premium feel, practical features, and solid performance.

Users can expand the storage further up to 1 TB using a microSD card.

    Camera and Display Features

Furthermore, the device showcases a 6.67-inch LCD screen that has a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels and supports a refresh rate of 90 Hz, reaching a peak brightness of 1000 nits.

    Battery and Additional Features

In the Moto G05, Motorola has included a 5,200 mAh battery, increased from the previous 5,000 mAh, which allows for 18 W wired charging. However, only a 10 W charger is included in the box, meaning users need to buy a faster charger separately. The phone is also rated IP52 for water and dust resistance. Additional features consist of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, up to 12 GB of RAM expansion capability, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Hi-Res audio support.

The Moto G05 comes in two color choices: Plum Red and Forest Green. It is priced at INR 6,999 (approximately $82/€78) for the single 4 GB + 64 GB variant. The smartphone will be available on Motorola’s official website, Flipkart, and other authorized retailers starting January 13.

The device ships with Android 15 pre-installed, and users can add more storage using MicroSD cards if needed. Motorola G35 Launch: Leather Back, 120Hz Display, Affordable Price

Motorola has revealed a new budget-friendly smartphone as part of its well-liked Moto G series. The Moto G35 has been introduced with an attractive price yet offers impressive specifications. It comes in vibrant color choices too, so here are the details regarding its pricing in India, specifications, and availability.

What makes Moto G35 stand out?

One of the standout features of the Moto G35 is its design. Even though it is a budget device, it features a rear panel made of vegan leather. This gives it a premium look that is typically found in higher-end smartphones. However, Motorola has been known to include vegan leather in many of its models. The front showcases a 6.7-inch tall display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, FHD+ resolution, and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

    Performance and Battery Life

Inside, the device is powered by the UNISOC T760 SoC, complemented by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. It even allows for virtual RAM expansion of up to 12GB. The smartphone is equipped with a robust 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W wired fast charging. It comes pre-loaded with Android 14 OS, and there are confirmations that it will receive an Android 15 OS update along with two years of security patches.

    Camera and Features

On the back, the Moto G35 has a primary camera of 50MP and an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, while the front features a 16MP sensor designed for selfies and video chatting. The price is set at 9,999 INR, which is around 118 US Dollars.

  • Moto G15 Specs Leak: Bigger Display and Battery than G14

Moto G15 Specs Leak: Bigger Display and Battery than G14

Last month, images of the Moto G15 were leaked, giving us a glimpse of the upcoming budget smartphone from Motorola. Recently, additional leaks have surfaced, providing complete details about the specifications of the device prior to its official launch.

    Specifications Uncovered

Originally reported by 91Mobiles, the specs for the Moto G15 were disclosed by Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414 on X). The Moto G15 is set to feature a 6.72-inch FHD+ (2400 × 1080) LCD display. This screen is larger than the 6.5-inch screen found in the Moto G14, although it continues to refresh at 60Hz.

The display supports HDR10, boasts a 20:9 aspect ratio, and has an 86.71% screen-to-body ratio, along with Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The leaked images have already shown the phone will maintain the centered punch hole for the front camera.

    Upgraded Hardware

In a shift from Unisoc, Motorola is opting for a MediaTek chipset. The processor will be the 12nm Helio G81 Extreme, which features Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55 cores similar to the 12nm Unisoc Tiger T616 found in its predecessor. The Moto G15 will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage that can be expanded.

Regarding the cameras, the Moto G15 is equipped with a 50MP main rear camera, swapping out the 2MP macro lens of the Moto G14 for a 5MP sensor. Additionally, it will include an 8MP front-facing camera.

    Battery and Features

There will be a slight improvement in battery capacity but a decrease in charging speed. The Moto G14 has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging (20W for the Indian model). In contrast, the Moto G15 will contain a 5,200mAh battery and support 18W fast charging.

The device will also feature an audio jack, stereo speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual-SIM capabilities. It will possess an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance and will have a faux leather finish. Leaked images indicate that the Moto G15 will come in three color options and is expected to run on Android 15.

    Pricing Confusion

The rumored price of €200 (about $211) appears to be inaccurate, especially when compared to the launch price of its predecessor and its competition like the Galaxy A16 4G. Samsung’s budget device offers a 90Hz AMOLED display, a stronger Helio G99 processor, a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, and support for six generations of Android upgrades. It’s currently listed on Amazon for $182.97.

The Moto G14 was launched in August 2023, making the Moto G15’s arrival overdue. Although Motorola hasn’t officially set a release date, speculation suggests it may be unveiled this month.
