Motorola has broadened its G-series range by introducing several new smartphones, including two entry-level and two mid-range models. Specifically, the company has launched the Moto G17, Moto G17 Power, Moto G67, and the G77 in the global marketplace. We have previously discussed the last two devices, and you can check that out here.

    Specs and Features

The Moto G17 and Moto G17 Power are designed with budget-conscious consumers in mind, and they feature very alike specifications, with just a few differences. Both models are equipped with the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme chipset, along with options for up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. This storage can be expanded further up to 1 TB using a microSD card.

    Design Similarities

In terms of design, both smartphones appear nearly identical, showcasing a triple rear camera configuration. This camera setup includes a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 600 primary sensor, a 5 MP ultrawide lens, and a flicker reduction sensor. On the front, you will find a 32 MP camera for selfies and video calls. Additionally, both models feature the same display specifications, with a 6.72-inch screen that offers FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. They are also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is intended to safeguard against unintentional drops and scratches.

    Battery Differences

The main distinction between the two models lies in their battery capacities. The G17 Power comes with a robust 6,000 mAh battery that supports 30 W wired charging. Conversely, the G17 is equipped with a somewhat smaller 5,200 mAh battery and supports 18 W wired charging. 2. Recent certifications from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) confirm Motorola’s plans for new devices.

    5. Motorola is expected to unveil several new smartphones later this year.

Sightings of Motorola’s upcoming foldable device have been popping up online recently. But it looks like the company is working on more than just a new version of the Razr Plus 2024, which is currently priced at $579 on Amazon.

    Certifications and New Models

Recent certifications from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) show that Motorola is looking for approval to release the XT2551-6. This model is recognized by the TDRA as the Razr 60 Ultra. Interestingly, it seems that the Razr 60 Ultra might be released as the Razr Ultra 2025 in North America.

    New Smartphone Launches

The EEC also notes that Motorola has developed models XT2503-4, XT2505-1, XT2507-1, and XT2527-2, which are likely to be a range of new non-foldable smartphones. Although the EEC hasn’t revealed the retail names for these devices, we can gather some insights based on existing models.

For example, the Moto G85 is listed as XT2427-1 in various markets. On the other hand, the Edge 50 5G and Edge 50 Pro are identified as ‘XT2407-1’ and ‘XT2403-4’, respectively. It seems that Motorola is planning to unveil several smartphones later this year.

  • Budget Moto G05 and G15 Renders Show Premium Design Features

Budget Moto G05 and G15 Renders Show Premium Design Features

Motorola is preparing to enhance its entry-level G-series range with the introduction of two new smartphones, the Moto G05 and Moto G15. Set for release either later this month or early next month, these devices are designed to provide a solid upgrade compared to their earlier models while staying within an affordable price range. Importantly, the Moto G15 and G05 will be the first Motorola smartphones to come with Android 15, Google’s newest operating system, right from the start.

Design Enhancements of G05 and G15

The design of the G15 and G05 closely mirrors that of Motorola’s latest devices like the Moto G75, Edge 50 Neo, and ThinkPhone 25, showing a significant upgrade from the Moto G14 and G04. The rear panel also seems to have a leather-like texture, which contributes to a more premium appearance.

    Camera Features and Variants

Both smartphones are equipped with a 50MP main camera along with a secondary sensor, aiming to offer good photography options for budget-minded users. In addition, the devices come with a punch-hole camera positioned on the front and a fingerprint scanner on the right side. The Moto G15 will be available in Grey and Green colors, with two RAM options—4GB and 8GB—and up to 256GB of storage. On the other hand, the Moto G05 will be offered in Orange, Grey, and Green hues, along with storage choices of 128GB and 256GB. Although an 8GB RAM version for the Moto G05 hasn’t been officially confirmed, it seems likely since the previous model, the Moto G04, provided this option as well.

    Performance Expectations

Recently, the Moto G15 was seen on Geekbench, achieving scores of 340 in single-core and 1311 in multi-core tests. These results might seem lower compared to the Moto G14, which scored 447 and 1577 points, but the variance could be due to different Geekbench versions being used. The Geekbench listing for the Moto G15 indicated a processor featuring a (6+2) core setup and a base clock speed of 1.7GHz, along with 4GB of RAM.

To give some context, the Moto G14 and Moto G04 are powered by the Unisoc T616 and Unisoc T606 processors, respectively. Both models are equipped with a reliable 5000mAh battery. The G14 boasts a 6.5″ FHD+ display, while the more budget-friendly G04 features a slightly larger (6.56″) HD+ (720p) screen.

    Competitive Pricing

Pricing is expected to stay competitive, with the Moto G04 currently listed on Flipkart for just ₹7,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version.
