ECS Unveils Liva P300 Mini PC with Intel Core Ultra 400 CPU

    Key Takeaways

    1. ECS is unveiling the Liva P300 mini PC, which utilizes Intel’s upcoming Nova Lake-S processors.
    2. The Liva P300 features a compact 3.5 L case, supporting low-profile discrete GPUs and integrated Xe3P GPU, promising over 100 TOPs performance.
    3. Built on the B960 platform, it supports DDR5-8000 RAM and two M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 SSDs for storage.
    4. Connectivity options include HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, USB-C, USB-A ports, Ethernet ports, and Wi-Fi 7 compatibility.
    5. ECS is considering a 240 W power supply for better support of discrete GPUs, with expected availability by the end of the year, though pricing details are not yet available.

ECS is one of the early companies in mini PC production to reveal a model that runs on the soon-to-be-released Intel Nova Lake-S processors. The Taiwanese firm is presenting several new devices at this year’s Embedded World event, and ComputerBase is onsite to cover the most interesting devices, including the Liva P300 small form-factor PC, which is set to debut later this year featuring Intel’s Core Ultra 400 desktop processors.

    Specifications of Liva P300

The new Liva P300 model from ECS comes in a compact 3.5 L case that measures 211 x 218 x 69 mm. This size is sufficient to accommodate a low-profile discrete GPU with horizontal riser support. ECS claims that even without a dedicated GPU, the Nova Lake CPU, paired with the integrated Xe3P GPU, can deliver over 100 TOPs, making it a viable competitor to AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395.

    Performance and Connectivity

ECS’s Nova Lake mini PC is built on the B960 platform and offers support for DDR5-8000 RAM through two SO-DIMM slots, along with two M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 SSDs for storage.

The selection of ports isn’t finalized yet, but ECS has mentioned several options, including at least one HDMI and one DisplayPort, along with a Thunderbolt port that can operate in DisplayPort mode directly linked to the CPU. For USB connectivity, it provides one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and four USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports. Additional connections comprise an audio jack, two Ethernet ports, a configurable connector, and compatibility for Wi-Fi 7 with an M.2 2230 card.

    Power Supply and Availability

While the specifications indicate a 120 W power supply, ECS informed ComputerBase that they might opt to include a 240 W PSU to ensure sufficient power for any discrete GPU.

Currently, there is no information on the pricing, but ECS anticipates launching these models by the year’s end.
