Edifier NeoBuds Evo: 48dB ANC, Bluetooth 5.4, 37hrs Battery Life

Edifier has introduced its newest TWS earbuds, the NeoBuds Evo, featuring dual Hi-Res certification, low-latency audio codecs, and advanced noise cancellation. Available for 599 yuan (approximately $84) on JD.com, these earbuds are designed for audiophiles who desire top-notch sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC) technology. Let’s explore the main features.

    Edifier NeoBuds Evo Specifications

The NeoBuds Evo is distinguished by its dual Hi-Res certification, capable of audio decoding up to 192kHz/24bit. Edifier enhances the audio experience with a “Lowsy Balanced Armature” driver and a dynamic driver unit. This hybrid setup aims to provide clear highs, strong mids, and rich bass.

The earbuds feature a maximum noise cancellation depth of 48dB at 4000Hz, effectively minimizing ambient noise so users can fully immerse themselves in their music, audiobooks, or podcasts.

Edifier has also improved the noise cancellation modes, offering “Deep Noise Cancellation” for maximum reduction and “Comfortable Noise Cancellation” for a more balanced experience that allows some ambient sounds to come through.

Equipped with six high-performance microphones, the NeoBuds Evo ensures clear voice quality during calls. These microphones, along with updated noise reduction algorithms, reduce background noise and improve voice pickup, even in windy or noisy settings.

Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity guarantees a stable and reliable connection with your device. Support for high-fidelity codecs such as LHDC 5.0, LDAC, AAC, and SBC ensures high-quality wireless audio transmission.

    Battery Life and Additional Features

The NeoBuds Evo offers a battery life of about 11 hours on a single charge with noise cancellation turned off. With ANC enabled, the playtime reduces to around 7 hours. The included charging case provides an extra 37 hours (ANC off) or 25 hours (ANC on) of playback, ensuring you stay powered throughout the day. A quick 15-minute charge provides an impressive 4 hours of playtime, ideal for those with a busy lifestyle.

Using Edifier’s companion app, Edifier Connect, users can further customize the NeoBuds Evo. The app allows adjustments to touch controls, personalizes wearing detection settings, and tailors the sound signature using the EQ.

    Comfort and Hygiene

Edifier has emphasized hygiene with the NeoBuds Evo. The ear tips are made from antibacterial materials, eliminating 99.9% of bacterial growth. Additionally, seven pairs of ear tips in different sizes are included to ensure a comfortable and secure fit for various ear canals.

Realme Buds Air 6 with Hi-Res Audio & 50dB ANC Launching in India

Realme is set to introduce the GT 6T smartphone in India on May 22. Alongside this, the brand has announced plans to unveil the Realme Buds Air 6 TWS earbuds in the country. These earbuds are touted to be the first in their segment to offer Hi-Res Audio.

    Realme Buds Air 6 Specifications

The earbuds were initially launched in China earlier this month, so the Indian version is anticipated to have similar features. The Buds Air 6 are expected to come with 12.4mm titanium-plated dynamic drivers and support for LHDC 5.0 and Hi-Res Audio. Additionally, they will likely feature 50 decibels of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). For gamers, the TWS could include a dedicated gaming mode that reduces latency to 55ms. Dual connectivity is another key feature that is expected to be included.

Similar to the Chinese variant, the earbuds are projected to offer up to 40 hours of battery life with the charging case and up to 7 hours of playback after a quick 7-minute charge. Other anticipated features include IP55 water and dust resistance, Bluetooth 5.3, and touch controls.

    Pricing Expectations

The Realme Buds Air 5, which was launched in India in August 2023, was priced at Rs. 3,699. Therefore, it is likely that its successor, the Buds Air 6, will be introduced at a similar price point.
