    It has taken some time, but now over 500 Hz QD-OLED gaming monitors are finally up for grabs in certain markets. Even so, the MAG 272QP X50 and the newest Odyssey OLED G6 haven’t been released globally yet to replace their 360 Hz models like the Asus ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG (current price: $729.99 on Amazon).

    Recently, both Gigabyte and Philips have started to offer monitors that sport the same panel technology in China. Among these, the Philips Evnia 27M2N8500X stands out as the most affordable option at CNY 5,999 (approximately $836). On the other hand, Gigabyte has set a higher price of CNY 7,499 (around $1,046) for the Aorus FO27Q5P.

    Connectivity Options

    Although the price gap might appear significant, the Aorus FO27Q5P boasts many more ports compared to the Philips model. To be precise, the Philips Evnia 27M2N8500X is equipped with DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20), two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB Type-B, and two USB Type-A ports. In contrast, the Aorus FO27Q5P includes mini DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20), DisplayPort 1.4, along with USB Type-C ports, in addition to what the Evnia offers.

    Future Availability

    Currently, it’s not clear when these monitors will be available worldwide. However, TFTCentral noted earlier this month that the Aorus FO27Q5P might hit the market outside China starting in July. Asus and MSI also have their own options coming soon, all of which will feature the same QD-OLED panel that offers a 1440p resolution, a 500 Hz refresh rate, 0.03 ms GtG response times, and outstanding color accuracy.

    Gigabyte Launches 500Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor for Gamers

    Gigabyte has announced two new QD-OLED gaming monitors ahead of CES 2025: the Aorus FO27Q5P and the MO27U2. Both monitors are made for gamers, but they have different specifications to cater to various types of users.

    Focused on Esports

    The Aorus FO27Q5P is aimed at professional esports players and fans of FPS games. It features a 26.5-inch QD-OLED display with a refresh rate of 500 Hz, believed to use the same 1440p resolution panel found in the Samsung Odyssey G60SF. Additionally, this monitor has DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 technology that supports bandwidths of up to 80 Gbps. Gigabyte is hopeful that this monitor will receive the newly introduced ClearMR 21000 certification. The first model to achieve this certification was the LG 27GX790A, which is currently priced at $906.49 on Amazon. It’s also anticipated that the FO27Q5P will be VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified.

    Aimed at Creative Gamers

    On the other hand, the Gigabyte MO27U2 is crafted for hybrid gamers who also engage in creative work or content streaming. Currently, it’s known that this monitor provides a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160 px) with a pixel density of 166 PPI. Furthermore, it reportedly boasts delta E≤2 color accuracy and has received Pantone Validation, enhancing its appeal for creative tasks.

    Both the FO27Q5P and the MO27U2 come with AI-driven OLED Care technology to help avoid burn-in issues and feature Tactical Switch 2.0, which enables quick toggling between different resolutions and screen ratios. However, the release date and pricing for the Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q5P and Gigabyte MO27U2 monitors remain uncertain.
