Six months after the debut of the Galaxy A06, Samsung has released a 5G version. The Galaxy A06 5G, introduced in India, is the first model in the Galaxy A0 series to support 5G connectivity. Its design closely resembles that of the 4G version, but now it comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, making it more durable.
Display and Performance
Samsung has kept the screen size and resolution the same as the 4G model. However, the 6.7” HD+ display now features a smoother refresh rate of 90Hz, up from 60Hz. Under the hood, it packs a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, along with options for up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Galaxy A06 5G includes a hybrid SIM slot, allowing users to use either two nano SIM cards or a single SIM with a MicroSD card.
Camera and Battery
The camera setup on the Galaxy A06 5G includes a 50MP primary rear camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there’s an 8MP front camera located in the U-shaped notch. Similar to the 4G variant, it features a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W charging, along with a side-mounted fingerprint reader and an audio jack.
Software and Availability
Since it launched later, the Galaxy A06 5G comes with One UI 7 based on Android 15 right out of the box. Samsung has promised better software support for this model, offering 4 OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates (until March 31, 2030). In comparison, the Galaxy A06 4G comes with Android 14 and will only receive 2 OS upgrades but still has 4 years of security updates. Both models, however, lag behind the Galaxy A16 series, which is available on Amazon for $199.99 and will get 6 OS upgrades along with 6 years of security updates.
The Galaxy A06 5G comes in Light Green, Light Gray, and Black colors. The pricing starts at ₹10,499 (~$121/€116) for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, rising to ₹11,499 (~$132/€127) for the 4GB RAM plus 128GB version, and going up to ₹12,999 (~$150/€144) for the 6GB RAM model with 128GB storage. It’s already available for purchase on Samsung’s online store, and will also be sold at partner retail outlets, both online and offline.
