Vivo X Fold 6 Specs and Pricing Details

In recent years, Vivo’s foldables have not exactly been in the spotlite. At least in Europe, 2025 was mainly a two-way fight between the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 on the one hand and the Honor Magic V5 on the other, both of which will soon be replaced by new versions such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Vivo’s plans for the global launch of this year’s Zeiss camera foldable are still unclear, but at least in China, serious competition for Samsung and others is emerging, as previous leaks and teasers had already suggested.

    Form Factor and Software Updates

The Vivo X Fold 6 form factor remains the same and does not switch to the more compact and wider format that the first iPhone Fold, aka iPhone Ultra, is expected to offer. Instead, the manufacturer is mainly improving the software and promises a major productivity boost through OriginOS 6 Fold, which has been optimized for foldables. Lately, Vivo has promoted additional specs and features of the upcoming Zeiss camera foldable smartphone on Weibo and has already confirmed the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset from Mediatek, among other things.

    Chipset Performance and AI Capabilities

According to Vivo, the chipset was explicitly optimized for foldables and AI workloads. The NPU is said to deliver 111% more performance while reducing power consumption by 56%. However, it remains unclear whether Vivo is using the regular Dimensity 9500 or the Dimensity 9400 as the comparison point. The new “AI file manager” has also been optimized for foldables and is intended to improve file handling in a way similar to a desktop PC. It also includes a chatbot that can answer questions about locally available files.

    Multitasking Features and Promo Video

Meanwhile, a promo video on Weibo (see below) shows how much better multitasking on the Vivo X Fold 6 will be compared to its predecessor, for example. The “Atomic Workbench” reportedly allows four app windows to be visible at the same time, with seamless resizing. Users can also view four smaller app windows above or next to a main app and easily switch between them. In the video, this does indeed look very smooth and convenient. The question, of course, is whether Vivo will also put in the work for a potential global version or whether this will primarily be relevant to users in China.

    Desktop Mode and PC Replacement

Anyone expecting more from their foldable PC replacement will be pleased to hear that the Vivo X Fold 6 also includes a desktop mode similar to Samsung DeX, as the two animations below demonstrate. Combined with an external display, the foldable can serve as a mouse replacement, while the Android interface turns into a Windows-like desktop with window management and classic desktop icons.

    Battery, Display, and Camera Rumors

Last but not least, Digital Chat Station recently weighed in again on Weibo and reiterated some specs of the Vivo X Fold6. In addition to the Mediatek chip made on a 3nm process, the Vivo foldable will apparently come with a 7,500 mAh battery, while the cover display is said to measure 6.59 inches diagonally. The main camera is reportedly based on a 1/1.28-inch 50 MP sensor, while the periscope telephoto camera is expected to use a 64MP sensor.

    Teasing New Details from Vivo

Vivo has started teasing new details about its upcoming flagship foldable phone, the X Fold 6. For context, the Vivo X Fold 5 was released in June 2025 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 6,000mAh battery, and a 50MP triple rear camera setup with Zeiss tuning. The brand is building excitment around the next generation.

    Confirmed Chipset and Software

The brand has now officially confirmed that the new Vivo X Fold 6 will be powered by the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset. According to Vivo product manager Han Boxiao, the “Super Edition” will offer improved NPU performance and lower power consumption. Leaked Camera and Battery Specs

A previous leak suggests that the X Fold 6 will sport a 200MP primary camera and a 50MP zoom camera. It is tipped to feature a 7,000mAh battery, surpassing the 4,400mAh capacity on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 (curr. $1,599 on Amazon). This would be a significant upgrade in terms of endurance.
