There is currently a massive amount of speculation going around about Blizzard. The main reason for this is a dataminer and insider named Stiven_SRB who brought up a codename called “Camelot.” This name is beeing talked about in connection with recent discoveries from datamining and also a mysterious Patch 1.60. Fans have started to think it could be a bigger project for WoW Classic.
Hopes for WoW Classic Plus
Many fans are specifically wanting a WoW Classic Plus version. In this idea, Blizzard would keep working on the original Azeroth with new zones, dungeons, raids and story stuff – totally separate from old expansions. This theory has not gotten any official confirmation yet. But the desire for a “Classic Plus” has been around with fans for years, so it doesnt seem impossible that Blizzard might want to make it happen now. According to another leak, “Camelot” could maybe come out as soon as fall 2026.
Internal Roadmap Leaked
Right after the Camelot leak, a X user called GottaSmokeEmAll showed a screenshot that was supposedly taken from an internal Warcraft roadmap. It shows many future projects. Besides “Camelot” for fall 2026, it also talks about a new real-time strategy game named “Warcraft Chronicles” for 2028, with the note “Anime Series” written above its name. Also interesting is a mystery “Arthas ARPG” listed for 2029, and it has the note “Live Action.” This suggest that Blizzard might be planning not only new games but also a bigger cross-media thing.
When it comes to the strategy game, the community is naturally hoping for Warcraft 4. However, it could just as easily be something completely new – or, like some fans worry, a mobile game. The Arthas ARPG also leaves alot of room for guessing: basically, it sounds like Warcraft lore builded on a foundation similar to Diablo. If Blizzard is really planning such a crossover is still totally unclear, because the source of the screenshot cant be definitively proven yet. Some users claim they have seen the image years ago, although this also cannot be proven at the moment. The leak is definitely interesting – especially since the timeline shown does not look unrealistic – but it should still be treated with a lot of caution.
