Instead of integrating it into an extension of the Redmi 13 series, as many expected before the launch, Xiaomi has opted to use this new chipset in the Redmi A4 5G.

    Details on the New Device

    This smartphone serves as the successor to the earlier Redmi A3 and Redmi A3x, which currently sells for about $94 on Amazon. The new Redmi A4 5G is equipped with a 5G chipset, as indicated by its name, thanks to the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2. It also includes an Adreno 619L GPU and features eight CPU cores, including two dedicated performance cores.

    Expected Features and Pricing

    In addition to the chipset, Xiaomi is likely to include a substantial 5,000 mAh battery, a 50 MP rear camera with an auxiliary lens, and an 8 MP camera for selfies. The Redmi A4 5G will probably have a 6.8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720p; however, more details about the display specifications are still unknown. Reports suggest that Xiaomi plans to price the device between INR 9,000-10,000, which is approximately $107-$119. Sadly, there hasn’t been any announcement regarding the launch date so far.

    When opened, the Zero Flip measures 170.35 x 73.4 x 7.64mm, while folded, it is 87.49 x 73.4 x 16.04mm and weighs 195 grams. The manufacturer states that the hinge design permits angles from 30 to 150 degrees and is durable enough to withstand up to 400,000 folds.

    Inside, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, which is a 6nm octa-core chip consisting of four 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 cores and four 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores, complemented by a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU to boost gaming and multitasking performance.
