– Oppo Find X9 Ultra prioritizes a 10x optical zoom, unlike rival flagships like the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
– The 10x telephoto camera’s small 1/2.75-inch sensor limits low-light quality compared to the 3x camera.
– Oppo Find X10 Ultra will upgrade its 230mm telephoto to a larger 1/1.95-inch sensor for better night performance.
– The new sensor won’t be the Sony LYT-600; other 2027 upgrades remain unknown.
– Oppo’s development is on track, contrasting with the struggling Xiaomi 18 Ultra.
The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is, next to the Vivo X300 Ultra, one of the best camera-focused flagships of the year, but despite some similarities it prioritizes different aspects of its Hasselblad camera system. For example, it uniquely offers a 10x optical zoom, a feature Samsung abandoned with the Galaxy S24 Ultra in 2024. Admittedly, the 10x telephoto camera on the Oppo Find X9 Ultra won’t deliver the same quality as the 1/1.28-inch 3x telephoto camera, especially in low light. The sensor size—at 1/2.75 inches—is a bit too small for that.
Telephoto Upgrade Details for the Oppo Find X10 Ultra
According to the leaker, however, the 50-megapixel sensor behind the 230mm telephoto camera in the Oppo Find X10 Ultra will be upgraded to a 1/1.95-inch sensor, which should allow for significantly higher image quality, particularly at night. Exactly which sensor will be used here has not yet been revealed, but according to the leaker’s comment, it will not be the Sony LYT-600. It is not yet known what other improvements Oppo is planning for its 2027 Hasselblad camera flagship. At least development seems to be proceeding according to plan—quite unlike the Xiaomi 18 Ultra, unfortunately.
