An emerging e-bike company, Monarc has launched its latest commuter e-bike, the Tracer, in the global market. Monarch is the first e-bike brand that offers two removable 48 V 15 Ah (720 Wh each) LG battery packs as standard. That gives riders a total of 1,440 Wh of capacity. The company claims that the e-bike offers up to 130 miles (209 km) of range with battery packs and 65 miles (104 km) with a single battery pack. This is something every e-bike manufacturer should do and it’s much better than selling a second battery as an expansion add-on.
Motor, Power and Speed Details
The Tracer is powered by the Bafang 750 W rear hub motor, which is said to deliver 1,638 W of peak motor power and 85 Nm of torque. The company ships the Tracer as a Class-2 commuter e-bike, but it can be configured as Class 1, 2, or 3, with pedal assist up to 28 mph (45 km/h). This is a pretty impressive spec for the price point they are targeting, expecially for city commuters who need that extra boost.
Display, App and Smart Features
Furthermore, there’s a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that shows essential riding information such as battery levels, range, and more.
