Specialized Launches Turbo Vado 5.0 E-Bike with Garmin Radar

The 2025 Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 e-bike has just been introduced in Europe. This commuter-friendly model comes equipped with the Specialized Turbo Full Power 2.2 motor, which features a pedal sensor to provide a natural feel when riding. The motor can reach a peak speed of 28 mph (approximately 45 kph), although in some regions, the maximum speed is limited to comply with local laws.

Performance and Comfort Features

The Turbo Vado 5.0 includes a robust 710Wh battery, enabling riders to enjoy assistance for distances up to 75 km (around 120 miles). For added comfort, there's an 80mm travel suspension fork at the front, along with a suspension seat post. Additional highlights of this electric bike are hydraulic disc brakes, LED lights at both front and rear, a rear rack for carrying items, and an integrated Vado anti-theft lock and alarm system. Users can personalize their ride using the MasterMind display and the Specialized app, which helps in estimating the remaining range of assistance.

Safety Innovations

A standout feature of the Turbo Vado is the built-in Garmin Radar sensor, which can spot vehicles from as far as 140 m (about 459 feet). This system provides visual, audible, and haptic alerts based on the distance and speed of approaching vehicles, enhancing rider safety. The Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 is available for purchase in the EU at a price of €4,500. It remains uncertain when or if this model will be released in other regions like the US or the UK.
