Remedy Entertainment, known for creating Max Payne and Alan Wake, has revealed an "Anniversary Update" for Alan Wake 2. This update will launch alongside The Lake House DLC on October 22.
Quality of Life Improvements
The update brings a range of Quality of Life (QOL) enhancements, including the option to invert the horizontal axis on both mouse and controller. Moreover, there are gameplay upgrades that include better haptics support for PlayStation DualSense controllers and gyro aiming features, allowing players to adjust both horizontal and vertical sensitivity. Additionally, players can select between standard or inverted settings for pitch, yaw, and roll.
Expanded Haptic Feedback
Before this update, Alan Wake 2 only provided haptic feedback on the DualSense for gunplay. With the new change, this feedback will now extend to healing items and throwable objects, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
New Gameplay Assist Features
In addition, the update will introduce a "Gameplay Assist" menu. This feature will let players activate Quick Turn, auto-complete Quick Time Events (QTEs), and choose between continuous button pressing or single taps. There will also be options to enable cheats, such as player invulnerability, unlimited ammo, and one-shot kills, adding more ways to enjoy the game.
Remedy Entertainment's commitment to improving the player experience is clear with this update.
