Redmi initially introduced the G Pro 2024 gaming laptop in March with an i9-14900HX processor and RTX 4060 GPU, priced at 8,999 Yuan (~$1250). Recently, the company unveiled a more budget-friendly variant featuring a Core i7-14650HX processor paired with the same RTX 4060 GPU, catering to a broader audience while maintaining robust performance.
Pricing and Availability
The i7-powered version is now available in China for 7299 Yuan (~$1,006) for the 16GB+1TB configuration. This version offers a similar TDP as its i9 counterpart, making it a competitive choice for gamers and power users alike.
Performance Specifications
The i9-14900HX boasts 24 cores, 32 threads, and a peak frequency of 5.8GHz. In contrast, the i7-14650HX features 16 cores, 24 threads, and a maximum frequency of 5.2GHz. Both laptops are equipped with the NVIDIA RTX 4060 graphics card, which supports ray tracing.
Users have the flexibility to switch between three modes: dedicated graphics, integrated graphics, and a hybrid mode that combines both, optimizing resource usage efficiently.
Additional Features
Aside from the processor, the i7 version shares most of its features with the original i9 model. Both versions have a total TDP of 210W and a maximum performance release of 130W. The laptop continues to feature a 2.5K display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time, enhancing the gaming experience by reducing screen tearing and stuttering.
The device also includes customizable RGB lighting on the keyboard and back, allowing users to personalize their gaming setup with various lighting effects.
