Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 (HoH2) is the newest game from Crackshell, and it was released on Steam on January 14. The game is set in the city of Sild, which is where players begin their journey and can also use as their main base. As players progress, they can upgrade Sild, introducing a unique building feature that enhances the gameplay experience, providing motivation and allowing customization for each playthrough.
Exploring the Dungeons
In this adventure, players will dive into the Hammerwatch universe, discovering different dungeons, battling tough bosses, and ultimately confronting the challenges within the Dark Citadel. This final area is known for its most difficult fights but also offers the greatest rewards. With its charming pixel art graphics, the game can be enjoyed by yourself or in cooperative mode with up to four friends.
Class Selection and Replayability
At the start of Heroes of Hammerwatch 2, players can choose from four different classes: Paladin, Ranger, Wizard, or Warlock. Additionally, players can unlock two more classes, Rogue and Sorcerer, by completing certain challenges. The levels are procedurally generated, meaning that each dungeon run is unique, and the variety of classes contributes to the game’s impressive replay value. For those looking for even more difficulty, there is a New Game Plus mode available.
Early Success on Steam
Just a day after its launch, Heroes of Hammerwatch 2 has quickly risen to the top of Steam’s “New and Trending” section, receiving 150 reviews with a remarkable 93% positive feedback rate. The game is priced at $18, but it currently has a 15% discount for its launch period, bringing the price down to $15.29 until January 21. If you’re hesitant about purchasing, a free demo version is also offered for players to try out first.
