To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the beloved game Tetris, Nintendo Switch owners (which you can find on Amazon for $250) will soon be able to enjoy a new game collection that features an all-new Tetris experience. Retro enthusiasts will also be pleased to see the updated DRAGON QUEST III. If you're not so familiar with old-school games, you might find LEGO Horizon Adventures appealing – a fun twist on the post-apocalyptic action RPG Horizon Zero Dawn presented in a classic LEGO format. Here’s a glimpse of the three thrilling new titles set to launch this week.
Tetris Forever Launches Soon
It’s been four decades since Tetris first landed on Game Boy shelves, marking a pivotal moment in gaming history. To honor this milestone, Nintendo is releasing Tetris Forever – a compilation of over 15 classic Tetris titles along with a fresh take on the original: Tetris Time Warp.
In Tetris Time Warp, players start off with a modernized version of Tetris. After leveling up, a time warp kicks in, bringing gamers back to an earlier game version, where they face a unique challenge within 20 seconds. The exciting part is that the game accommodates up to four players, and when one player finishes their challenge, the clock rewinds for the others too. Opponents need to beat the same challenge before they can jump back into the main gameplay.
Pricing and Discounts
Tetris Forever is anticipated to launch on November 12 for about $35. However, there’s a special 15 percent discount available leading up to its release, lowering the price to around $30. If you wish to grab the discount, you can pre-order the Tetris collection at the Nintendo eShop right now.
DRAGON QUEST III Remake
Originally released in Japan in February 1988 for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), DRAGON QUEST III: The Seeds of Salvation is the third chapter in the famed DRAGON QUEST saga, crafted by Enix (now known as Square Enix). Over 35 years later, this classic is being revived for the Nintendo Switch. The remake retains the engaging gameplay and story from the original but introduces stunning HD 2D graphics. Finally, Dragon Quest is showcased with vibrant pixel art combined with modern 3D effects.
The HD-2D version of DRAGON QUEST III will surely resonate with nostalgic players, but it also offers newcomers a fantastic chance to dive into this iconic JRPG. Starting November 14, the game will be priced around $60 in the Nintendo eShop.
LEGO Horizon Adventures Overview
LEGO Horizon Adventures presents an open-world action experience that reinterprets the realm of Horizon Zero Dawn with a lighthearted LEGO twist. Players take on the role of the hunter Aloy, facing off against mechanical beasts in a sprawling, post-apocalyptic landscape that encourages exploration. The game supports both online and local co-op play, letting you enjoy the adventure with a friend.
This new LEGO adventure is set to debut on November 14, offering two editions: a standard version for $60 and a deluxe edition for $70, which comes with rollercoaster customization options and six unique outfits in addition to the main game.
