More information has come out about the LG OLED G5 smart TVs set to release in 2025. Recently, the 55-inch and 65-inch models were found in the KTC database in South Korea, alongside the same sizes of the 2025 C5, showing a design that looks a lot like the 2024 models.
Specifications Unveiled
Now, FlatpanelsHD has discovered the 2025 OLED65G5 TV in the VESA ClearMR database. The listing shows that this new model will have a UHD resolution (4K, 3840 x 2160 px). It also indicates that the TV features a 165Hz refresh rate, an improvement over the 144Hz refresh rate seen in the 2024 G4. The ClearMR Tier, which measures how clear motion is, has also been enhanced from 9,000 to 10,000. However, the LG C5 has not yet appeared in this database.
Anticipation for Release
The 2025 LG OLED G5 smart TV is expected to make its first appearance at CES 2025. LG has already bagged a 2025 CES Best of Innovation Award in the Video Displays category for its new line of OLED TVs. It remains uncertain when the LG G5 will hit the market and how much it will cost. For reference, the 65-inch 2024 LG evo G4 TV has a recommended retail price of $3,399.99 but is currently listed on Amazon for $2,296.99.
