A ransomware group, known as Rhysida, managed to infiltrate the studio's system and gain access to a vast amount of sensitive information. A Cybersecurity Breach Unveils Wolverine Game Details
According to a report by CyberDaily, the hacker group Rhysida successfully obtained a substantial amount of data, which included a screenshot of the upcoming Wolverine game. Additionally, the group announced an auction for this stolen information, with a starting price of 50 bitcoins (equivalent to approximately 2 million US Dollars). The deadline for payment was set at seven days.
The report further revealed that a staggering 1.67 terabytes of data were compromised, comprising over 1.3 million files. Rhysida selectively shared details about the Wolverine game, offering a glimpse into its gameplay footage, level design, and mechanics. Furthermore, the leaked information included unreleased content from Insomniac and Sony games, screenshots of internal spreadsheets, and even development and marketing budget details. As a result, videos showcasing the iconic superhero using his extraordinary sense of smell to locate objectives have already begun circulating on various platforms.
Sony's Response to the Leak
Wolverine was officially announced some time ago through a short trailer, generating immense excitement among fans.
