HP has announced its latest advancements in AI, which promise to enhance the functionality of its new 6x00-series printers, making them smarter and more cost-effective.
Improved Printing Experience
The new Print AI features are designed to eliminate the hassle of printing, especially for webpages, which make up about 50% of all print jobs globally, according to HP. The first AI feature introduced, called Perfect Output, is specifically aimed at removing unwanted elements like ads and rearranging the remaining content to optimize the layout, thereby reducing the number of pages printed.
Streamlining Scanning Tasks
Perfect Output is also capable of addressing traditionally challenging printing tasks, including spreadsheets. Complementing this is HP Scan AI Enhanced, which has reportedly decreased the need for human effort in scanning by 80% for a major retail chain with 300 locations in Italy.
Enhancing Collaboration and Resource Sharing
Additionally, HP Build Workspace is set to improve workflow and collaboration in sectors like construction, engineering, and architecture, where printing needs can be extensive. Z by HP Boost aims to utilize otherwise idle GPU power in workstations to aid AI researchers and developers in various locations. Z by HP Gen AI Lab will provide uniform templates, models, and collaboration tools across all workstations within a company.
The launch of HP's AI tools is expected to commence today, September 24, 2024. This rollout will begin with the deployment of HP Build Workspace and Scan AI Enhanced in the US and Europe, along with a beta release of Perfect Output for select customers. The complete suite of tools is anticipated to be available globally by the end of 2025.
