Decathlon has introduced a new e-bike in Europe called the Rockrider E-ACTV 500 high frame. This model closely resembles the low-frame version that was released earlier this year. Both of these electric bikes are powered by a 250W Yamaha motor that delivers 55Nm of torque.
Features and Performance
The E-ACTV 500 comes with five different assistance modes. Its 504Wh battery can achieve a range of up to 150 km (about 93 miles) on the lowest power setting, known as eco mode. Users can adjust the assistance level via a color control screen, which also includes a USB-A charging port. The bike features an 8-speed setup, a Suntour SF15 NEX-E25 suspension fork, a Microshift Acolyte Derailleur, Rockrider Protect+ puncture-proof tires for off-roading, and Tektro T280 hydraulic disc brakes. Additionally, it includes accessories such as lights, fenders, and an optional luggage rack. The smart e-bike is also compatible with the Decathlon Ride app.
Design and Weight
This high frame version sports a dark green color and is a bit heavier than its counterpart. The medium model weighs in at 24.7 kg (approximately 54.5 lbs), inclusive of the battery, while the low frame alternative is slightly lighter at 24.5 kg (around 54.0 lbs). The Decathlon Rockrider E-ACTV 500 HF e-bike is currently available in various European countries like France and Germany, priced at €1,999. This is the same price as the low-frame version. It's not clear if or when this model will be available in other regions, such as the UK, where the low frame variant is already being sold for £1,999.
Decathlon's new e-bike offering is sure to catch the attention of cycling enthusiasts looking for a reliable electric option.
