  • OnePlus Unveils New Bullets Wireless Neckband Earphones After 3 Years

OnePlus Unveils New Bullets Wireless Neckband Earphones After 3 Years

    Key Takeaways

    1. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 will closely resemble the Bullets Wireless Z2 in design, featuring magnetic earbuds and an in-line remote.
    2. At launch, the earphones will be available in two color options: Samba Sunset (orange) and Mambo Midnight (black), with potential for additional colors later.
    3. The Z3 will offer upgraded features, including faster charging, with a 10-minute charge providing around 27 hours of playback time and a total battery life of 36 hours.
    4. The new model is expected to lack active noise cancellation, as it does not include “ANC” in its title.
    5. The official announcement for the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 is set for June 19 in India, with no details on its availability in other regions.

More than three years have passed since OnePlus first released its popular neckband-style earphones, and now they are set to unveil a new version called the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3. The company has shared the launch date and some preliminary details about these earphones.

    Design Similarities

From the promotional visuals, it looks like the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 will closely resemble the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2, keeping many design elements the same. Notable features like the magnetic earbuds, silicone build, and in-line remote are expected to remain unchanged.

    Color Options

At launch, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 will come in two color options: Samba Sunset (orange) and Mambo Midnight (black). However, there’s a chance that additional colors may be introduced later, similar to what happened with the Bullets Wireless Z2, which is currently sold on Amazon for $54.

    Upgraded Features

While the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 may not visually differ much from its predecessor, it’s set to include some enhancements, particularly in charging speed. According to the promotional information, a mere 10-minute charge will yield around 27 hours of playback time, and the total battery life is estimated at 36 hours on a full charge. For comparison, the Bullets Wireless Z2 offers 20 hours of use from a 10-minute charge, with a total battery life of 30 hours. Both models provide significantly longer battery life than the Beats Flex Wireless Earbuds.

    Active Noise Cancellation Absence

Despite many uncertainties surrounding the new Bluetooth earphones, one detail is likely: the absence of active noise cancellation. The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 has an ANC variant that was released in 2023, and since the Z3 does not feature “ANC” in its title, it’s probable that this new model lacks that capability.

The official announcement for the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 is scheduled for June 19 in India, but there’s currently no information about its release in other regions.

The Sonos Ace has been available for a year, and an exciting new update is being released to enhance its features. These high-end over-the-ear headphones were introduced in May 2024 as Sonos’ first entry into the headphone market, but their launch faced challenges due to a problematic update to the Sonos app.

    Competing with New Rivals

This update arrives at a crucial moment, especially with the emergence of the Sony WH-1000XM6 as a competitor. The official announcement states that the update includes new functionalities along with improvements in active noise cancellation and the clarity of calls.

With the recent update, this feature now supports two pairs of Sonos Ace headphones working together in perfect harmony.

One of the appealing aspects of the Sonos Ace is its compatibility with Dolby Atmos and dynamic head tracking. According to Sonos, users can expect a lifelike surround sound experience thanks to the TrueCinema technology, which mimics a 3D audio setup within the headphones.

    Improved Noise Cancellation

The update also enhances noise cancellation capabilities. As per Sonos, the Ace’s active noise cancellation will now adjust based on factors like users’ hair, glasses, and hats in real-time, utilizing advanced sensors to reduce sound leaks. Additionally, improvements have been made to call clarity, and a new SideTone feature allows users to hear a bit of their voice during calls while the ANC is active.

The rollout of the update has already begun this week. If you haven’t received it yet, open the Sonos app, navigate to the Settings menu, select your headphones in the headphones section, click on ‘Software Updates’ in the About section, and tap ‘Check for Updates’.

Ensure that the app remains open throughout the update process, and keep your headphones close to your smartphone. During the update, the status LED on the headphones will switch between orange and white, turning solid blue once the update is finished.

Originally priced at $449 at launch, the Sonos Ace is now available for purchase on Amazon for $329.
