Amazon has unveiled brand new models in its Omni smart TV range. These latest TVs are unique as they are the first in the Omni series to utilize mini-LED technology. Additionally, they come packed with features that enhance the gaming experience.
Key Specifications
The new Fire TV Omni Mini-LED series boasts a QLED mini-LED display, achieving peak brightness levels of up to 1,400 nits and offering as many as 1,344 dimming zones. According to Amazon, these TVs support Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive, ensuring more vivid colors, deeper blacks, and improved contrast.
Advanced Features
A notable addition is an advanced light and color sensor that enhances picture quality and fine-tunes scenes in real-time. This sensor also detects the ambient light in the room, automatically adjusting brightness and color temperature based on the time of day.
Another innovative sensor found within the Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series is a high-fidelity radar that reacts to movement in front of the screen. This feature is particularly useful when the TV is in Ambient Experience mode, which acts as a screensaver displaying art or relevant information. When motion-based art like fluttering butterflies or swimming fish is shown, it will respond to viewers walking by.
Gaming Enhancements
Amazon has incorporated several high-end gaming features, including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Variable Refresh Rate support, Auto Low Latency Mode, and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate in Gaming Mode. However, it’s surprising that Amazon hasn’t clarified whether these new TVs support Xbox Cloud Gaming.
The latest smart TVs are equipped with two speakers and two subwoofers, featuring support for Dolby Atmos audio, creating an immersive sound experience. Furthermore, Amazon plans to introduce a feature soon that will enable those with hearing aids to receive high-quality sound directly from the TV, while others can still listen through the TV's speakers.
