Will Xiaomi Reveal a New Car on July 19 at Lei Jun’s Annual Speech?

Xiaomi was recently rumored to be preparing the launch of the “Xiaomi SU8,” which many expected to be unveiled today. However, a Xiaomi official has debunked this rumor through a Weibo post, stating that the news is false and no such car is in development. Despite this, spy photos of an SUV, believed to be from Xiaomi, have surfaced.

    A New Contender?

Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, announced that he will deliver his fifth annual speech at 19:00 on the evening of July 19. He plans to discuss the intricacies of car manufacturing and the challenges faced over the past three years. Although he has not provided specific details about a new car’s development or launch date, rumors suggest that an SUV might be unveiled during the event.

    Upcoming Announcements

Previous reports indicate that the July 19 event will also showcase the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, Redmi K70 Ultra, and Xiaomi Mix Flip. While it remains uncertain if Xiaomi will introduce a new car, leaked spy photos show an SUV, allegedly codenamed MX11. This vehicle is anticipated to be revealed either by the end of this year or early next year.

The leaked images highlight a design reminiscent of the Xiaomi SU7, featuring M-shaped headlights and pebble-style laser radar.

    Production and Sales

Regarding the Xiaomi SU7, the company has increased production to reduce waiting times. A previous report noted that Xiaomi sold over 10,000 units of the SU7 in June and aims to sell another 10,000 units this month. Xiaomi Auto is reportedly targeting the delivery of 100,000 EVs this year.

Xiaomi Auto SU7 Sells 10,000+ Units in June, Expects Same for July

Xiaomi Auto is seeing impressive progress with the deliveries of their SU7 electric SUV. Following a milestone of over 10,000 units delivered in June, they aim to sustain this pace through July. This marks a significant increase from previous months, with 8,630 units delivered in May and 7,058 in April.

    Ambitious Goals for 2024

The company has set a goal to deliver a total of 100,000 EVs in 2024. This escalation in production is in line with Xiaomi’s earlier decision to implement double-shift production starting in June to meet a monthly delivery target of 10,000 units. Their ambitious long-term goal for 2024 aims to deliver 100,000 SU7s, with an aspirational target of 120,000 units. Although these figures may not seem extremely high, they are quite impressive for the SU7, Xiaomi’s initial venture into the EV market, which is still relatively new.

    Customer Care Campaign

To address customer wait times, Xiaomi Auto introduced the “Lock Order and Wait for User Care” campaign on June 28th. This initiative provides gifts to users who have waited more than 3 months for their SU7, serving as a form of compensation.

Leaked Photos Reveal Xiaomi Auto’s New SUV: First Look

Car enthusiasts have plenty to be thrilled about today following the release of spy photos that supposedly show Xiaomi Auto's inaugural SUV. Though official details are still scant, these leaked images might offer a sneak peek into Xiaomi's design philosophy as it ventures into the SUV market.

    2025 Release Date Speculated

Once known by its internal codename MX11, the SUV is rumored to debut in 2025. However, specific details about the vehicle remain sparse.

The spy photos reveal a heavily camouflaged exterior but provide some clues. The front features a sleek clamshell-style hood. A roof-mounted laser radar, reminiscent of the pebble-shaped unit on the Xiaomi SU7, can be seen. Other notable elements include side cameras, yellow brake calipers, and five-spoke wheels that mirror the design of the SU7.

    Sporty Aesthetic

The SUV's overall silhouette suggests a sportier look, highlighted by a fastback-coupe design. The roofline smoothly curves into the rear of the vehicle, adding to its dynamic appearance.

Although the authenticity of these photos is still up in the air, they have certainly sparked interest in Xiaomi Auto's upcoming SUV.
