The Journey Alti Play Performance Desk Mat is now up for pre-order in the United States. This new desktop charging accessory improves upon the previous Alti model by adding RGB lighting, which enhances your workspace with some nice ambient light. On the left side of the mat, you’ll find the dedicated charging area. It operates using USB-C and allows you to wirelessly charge two devices simultaneously; there’s a 15W Qi2-enabled charging pad for your phone and a secondary 5W charger for your earbuds.
Features and Controls
The magnetic charging panel can be detached and is framed by RGB lighting that you can control with two built-in buttons. You have the option to cycle through nine different colors, including a rainbow setting, as well as six modes such as snake, rainbow pulse, and breathing effects. Additionally, you can adjust the brightness to one of four levels. Journey claims that the color temperature varies from 1,200 to 6,500K, and the LED lifespan is expected to be around 50,000 hours.
Material and Design
According to reports, the mat is crafted from a textured micro-weave Lycra material, which promises comfort while providing a smooth surface for your mouse. The bottom side is finished with rubber to prevent slipping. The overall dimensions are 900 x 400 x 4 mm (approximately 35.4 x 15.7 x 0.2 inches), while the charging panel measures 400 x 100 x 7 mm (about 15.7 x 3.9 x 0.3 inches). You can currently pre-order the Journey Alti Play Performance Desk Mat for $149.99, which is $20 more than the previous Alti Wireless Charging Desk Mat. The product is set to ship on February 12th, but it remains uncertain if it will also be available in other countries.
