The recent leaks regarding the Camon 40 series suggest that Tecno has moved away from the OnePlus 13-style camera design used in previous models. Instead, the flagship of this series seems to take inspiration from the Oppo Find X8 Pro’s aesthetic.
Camera Design and Features
The new smartphone features a single round camera module located in the center of the upper half of its back panel. This module includes four lenses arranged in a traditional stove-top pattern, with one of the lenses shaped as a square.
Improved Specs on the Horizon?
It appears that the Camon 40 Premier (listed as Tecno CM8 in the FCC database) will continue to use the periscope zoom lens found in its predecessor. It is expected to offer “60x Zoom” similar to the Camon 30 Premier (currently priced at INR 29,999, roughly $347 on amazon.in), although this figure represents digital zoom rather than optical. It remains unclear if the 40 Premier can enhance the camera specifications compared to its earlier models.
Performance and Charging Capabilities
What’s more likely is that the 40 Premier will feature 12GB of RAM and a minimum of 256GB of internal storage. Additionally, it may come with 70W Flash Charging, which, while not an upgrade from the 30 Premier, should still hold its own against other devices in the same price range—though it may lag behind the Realme 14 Pro+.
As for the battery, there has been no indication of an upgrade for the 40 Premier so far. Meanwhile, the Tecno CM6 (or “40 4G”) has received certification from Thailand’s NBTC, suggesting it might be ready for a launch very soon.
