ZTE has launched a fresh version of the Nubia Z70 Ultra in celebration of the Chinese New Year. This new model is called the Nubia Z70 Ultra New Year Edition, and it boasts a revamped design along with extra accessories, while the main hardware specifications remain the same. The original model, which was introduced to the global market just under two months ago, is priced at $729 in the US, £649 in the UK, and €749 in the EU.
Unique Design and Accessories
The New Year Edition is offered in a single color scheme featuring a silver frame paired with an orange faux leather back. ZTE has also included a free smartwatch, a unique case, and special packaging that comes with this limited edition device.
Hardware Specifications
In terms of hardware, it remains unchanged from the regular Nubia Z70 Ultra. It showcases a 6.85-inch 1.5K OLED BOE Q9+ display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, a 95.3% screen-to-body ratio, and a touch sampling rate that goes up to 960Hz. The display supports 10-bit color, covers the DCI-P3 color range, and can achieve a peak brightness of 2000 nits.
Performance and Camera
This smartphone is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Operating on Android 15 with Nebula AIOS, it features several AI-enhanced options to enrich user experience. The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.59 to f/4.0) along with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view and macro functions, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens that also has OIS. The front camera is a 16MP under-display type, providing a sleek look and good image quality.
Battery Life and Durability
The Nubia Z70 Ultra is powered by a robust 6150mAh battery which supports 80W fast charging. It also boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, ensuring durability in a variety of situations.
The New Year Edition has only been revealed for the Chinese market and will be available for purchase starting January 16th. There are no details yet regarding its global release, despite the standard Nubia Z70 Ultra being available internationally since November.
